“Carmen. The Story of José” is a stage interpretation of Prosper Mérimée’s novella, revealing the tragic power of passion and jealousy capable of destroying a human life. The story of a simple soldier, José, whose love for the free-spirited and defiant Carmen turns his fate into a chain of fatal decisions, unfolds as a psychological chronicle of inner struggle.
Carmen embodies an untamed force of freedom and desire that cannot be subdued or corrected. The play explores the depth of human passions, moral choices, and the consequences of uncontrollable feelings that inevitably lead to tragedy.
